Spicy Chicken Sandwich

4 sandwiches

Ingredients

Protein:

  • 1-1/2 lbs chicken breast

Wet mix:

  • 1/3 cup Frank’s Red Hot Sauce
  • 2/3 cup water

Dry mix:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 2-1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 tsp ground cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Directions

Cut the chicken breast(s) into patties or strips.

Mix 1/3 cup Frank’s Red Hot Sauce and 2/3 cup water in a bowl. This is the wet mix.

In a separate bowl mix 1 cup flour, 2-1/2 teaspoons salt, 4 teaspoons ground cayenne pepper, 1 teaspoon black pepper, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1 teaspoon paprika, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder. This is the dry mix.

Coat each piece of chicken first in the dry mix, then in the wet mix, then once more in the dry mix. Then fry or bake the chicken until fully cooked.

Air fryer:

Cook for 14 minutes at 400 degrees F. After about a minute of cooking, lightly coat the top of each chicken piece with oil so as to make the coating crisp up. Flip the chicken pieces over half way through, re-coating the now top of the chicken pieces with oil as before.

Oven:

**(Not optimized)** Cook for 14 minutes at 425 degrees F on a baking pan lined with parchment paper.

Oil Fryer:

**(Not optimized)** Heat oil to around 360 degrees F before placing chicken into oil. Do not overload the oil, leave an inch between each piece of chicken. Cook until golden brown.
